Robert Biery II

Robert Biery II began working in his father’s architectural office at the age of 14. At 18, he began a series of summer jobs in construction. He graduated from Louisiana State University of New Orleans in 1975 with a degree in History. After a brief stint in law school, he decided to study architecture with a focus on historical styles and construction methods. He graduated in 1979 from Louisiana State University.

After graduation, Robert went to work for his father at a time when the City of New Orleans was experiencing an increasing interest in the renovation of historic buildings. This allowed him to put his knowledge to practical use, enhancing his understanding of old construction methods, detailing and principles.

A few years later, after licensing, he spent seven months traveling in Europe and the United States studying and drawing buildings of all periods and styles. He developed a strong interest in classical methods of proportion, organization and detailing.  While working with his father, he learned the principles of interior design, as well as the use of color and lighting.
